HD70008 The Boyhood of Raleigh
ca 47.25" x 39.25", Fine Arts Society 1904
Prints of this well known painting by Millais graced as many homes,  in its day as the awful Jack Vetriano does today. However it is unlikely that many of these were Dicksee's, as his version of the work is quite rare. It is on thick vellum and I only know of it in the form of artist's proofs, signed by Dicksee in pencil, with Millais' monogram. Image is courtesy of Artsoutine Galleries.
Exhibited Royal Academy in 1901 Nr 1430.
